It’s been a while since I’ve made a smoothie. During the winter months I like to make a smoothie with matcha, yogurt and an assortment of fruits–whatever I have on hand really. It’s a healthy and low fat treat that keeps me full and satisfied. I love to enjoy this drink sometimes as a mid-afternoon snack. Matcha is loaded with tons of antioxidants! This is such a versatile recipe and you can add whatever fruits you have, today I decided on berries and apples.
-6 oz low fat (or fat free) yogurt–Greek or regular (I prefer vanilla or any berry flavor for this particular smoothie)* I used blueberry yogurt today
– 4 medium strawberries, diced
– 1/2 medium apple, peeled and cubed
– 4-5 ice cubes
– 1/2 tablespoon matcha powder–if you don’t have matcha, make strong brewed green tea and freeze them into ice cubes! (*Tip* I like to get the powder and dilute it with 1 tbsp of warm water so it blends better)
Blend well and enjoy! Serves 1
