Happy Autumn! Now that Fall in finally here, I’m going to show you how I make one of my favorite Autumn desserts. Apple Cinnamon cake the perfect dessert to enjoy on a cool night. I love pairing it with a hot cup of coffee–the perfect guilt free treat!
Here is the recipe!
What you’ll need:
-2 Fuji apples (medium sized, peeled and sliced very thin)
-1 3/4 cup yellow cake mix
-1 tsp baking powder
-1 tsp cinnamon
-1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
-3/4 cup apple flavored club soda (plain club soda is fine but I like using apple flavored as it enhances the flavor)
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Over medium heat and non fat cooking spray, heat up 1 1/2 of the apple slices, set the rest aside. Sear until lightly brown, about 5 mins. Stir often. Side aside to cool.
For the batter–be sure to combine dry ingredients. Combine cake mix, baking powder, cinnamon and mix. Add apple sauce and club soda, combine gently with wisk. Add seared apples.
Using a non stick cake pan, add batter. I used a bundt pan. Smooth and even out batter once it’s poured into the cake pan. Take the apples you reserved aside earlier and and add on top of cake batter.
Cook for about 35 mins. Let cool. Serve and enjoy!
